Matcha is an enchanting and stunning tea that has enchanted not only Japan, but the whole world. But sometimes we don’t know or think about how it comes about and the craftsmanship it requires. Yugen Tea’s founder Giedrė invites all matcha tea lovers who want to get to know this archaic tea drink better, learn the subtleties of its preparation, and understand how to appreciate the quality of matcha.

During the tasting

  • You will learn about the path and traditions of matcha tea.
  • You will taste tencha tea (unground matcha tea leaves).
  • You will taste four different matcha teas and analyse them.
  • You will prepare your own matcha tea and taste it with a matching dessert.

About the lecturer

Giedrė, the founder of Yugen Tea, has been analysing Japanese tea culture for more than 10 years. She has completed Certified Tea Master Courses by Australian Tea Masters and Tea Blending Courses by Australian Tea Masters, as well as an internship at a tea farm in Japan.

Giedrė shares, “After travelling to distant lands, learning everything I could, I came back to Lithuania with a mission to share my delicious cups of tea, coziness and Japanese aesthetic lifestyle. All the teas in the Yugen Tea collection come directly from farmers I have met in the tea fields of Japan.”
