Yugen Tea’s founder Giedrė invites tea latte lovers to take a closer look at matcha, genmaicha and hojicha teas, which can be used to make delicious and delicate drinks.
The tasting includes traditional Japanese matcha, genmaicha and hojicha teas, as well as learning the subtile points of latte preparation – from the right proportions to the balance of flavours. Participants will learn how to evaluate the quality of teas and get to know their different characters. The experience will be complemented by a seasonal Yugen Tea drink, which will be served at the end of the tasting.
Matcha – very finely ground green tea powder. It is a ritual tea traditionally drunk during the Japanese tea ceremony. Growing, brewing and preparing matcha is a special process that requires a lot of time, love and patience.
Genmaicha – green tea with fried mochi rice. It is one of the most popular Japanese teas in the world, surprising with its slightly nutty and caramel notes.
Hojicha – green tea roasted at high temperatures. The leaves lose some of their caffeine during the roasting process, making this tea the perfect companion for any time of the day – warming, mild and soothing.
