Gyokko Hira teapot

Handmade by Takahiro Umehara (Gyokko), this unglazed kyusu teapot is designed for gyokuro and sencha teas. This unique flat shape is a particular favourite with tea lovers, as it allows them to watch the leaves unfold. The teapot is made of brown clay from the Tokoname region, with yellowish-red undertones. Tokoname is one of the six ancient pottery centres in Japan, where high-quality ceramics using local clay have been produced since the 12th century.
